The main task before us is incredibly complex and cannot be fully resolved at this time. But an interesting challenge must be a little crazy.

The amount of data available to date, compared to the outstanding issues, suggests that a fairly complete model will be at least 90% hypothetical. Such a model cannot be truly validated. Its adequacy can only be confirmed by the general behaviour of the known variables.
