Data quality assessment
One of the side effects of modelling is the indirect assessment of data quality in various subject areas. A search for relevant numerical data reveals that even relatively well-studied areas lack enough suitable data, despite hundreds of studies. Therefore, modelling is useful not only as a tool for creating applied models but also in itself, as a tool for assessing the available data quality.
The amount of data available to date, compared to the outstanding issues, suggests that a fairly complete model will be at least 90% hypothetical. Such a model cannot be truly validated. Its adequacy can only be confirmed by the general behaviour of the known variables/indicators.
